What is Bridging the Gap Workshops?Under the flagship of the Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes and in partnership with the University of California Davis Mind Institute, the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health is proud to offer two capacity building opportunities for professionals who will be working closely with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and neurodevelopmental disoders.
Being a CHED-funded project, it aims to work with academic institutions training and teaching graduate and post-graduate students and fellows who have been working in the fields of neurodevelopmental disorders, involve professional societies and patient advocacy groups and members who can become trainers and leaders in their communities and conduct research, and involve other government organization stakeholders who can influence policy and practice. |
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) Introductory Course - March 21, 2019
ESDM is comprehensive early behavioral intervention for children with ASD that integrates applied behavior analysis (ABA) with developmental and relationship-based approaches. Multiple studies have shown that early intervention can decrease autism symptoms and improve developmental outcomes.

Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) Clinical Training - March 22-23, 2019
ADOS-2 is a semi-structured, standardized diagnostic instrument for the assessment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It includes a number of play-based activities designed to obtain information in the areas of communication, reciprocal social interactions, and restricted and repetitive behaviors associated with a diagnosis of ASD. Currently, it is a standardized tool to support the diagnosis of ASD.
